Pastor Appreciation: Why and How
October is designated as Pastor Appreciation Month. October 26th is dedicated to honoring our pastor and his wife. Be sure to mark your calendar!
Our pastor and first lady are a source of strength, guidance, and support. They go above and beyond to care for our needs, both spiritual, emotional, and physical.
This month and Pastoral Appreciation Day in particular, provide an opportunity for you to let them know how much you appreciate all they do for you and your community.
Suggested ways are:
- Give them the requested $100 per working family
- Give them a gift card to their favorite restaurant or store
- Present them with a plaque, certificate, or another award
- Take them out for lunch or coffee
- Write a letter of appreciation and have others sign it
- Give them tickets to a play, concert, or another event
- Buy them a book or resource that they’ve been wanting
- Have the children make cards or gifts for them
- Offer to provide housecleaning or yard service for their family
- Give them a certificate for a vacation or getaway

BOOK OF THE MONTH
Study the Book of the Month (John 20). Learn more about the empty tomb and Jesus returning to His discipes. John gives us the reason His gospel was written in John 20:30-31. As you read you will glean much more. God wants you to delight in His word.
RUNNING WITH PASTOR
Dig deeper into God's transforming Word. This month, dig into John 20 and Psalm 45-47. See God's victory over death through Christ's resurrection. Visit the empty tomb and read about the last visits with His disciples. Pray through some Psalms of the sons of Korah. Click the picture to join the group.
